Cybercab Rider Rules, Terms of Service, and Policies

Key Robotaxi policies riders must follow — including Terms of Service, Rider Rules, privacy, non-discrimination, and service animals.

Before you take your first Cybercab ride, review the policies below. These rules exist to keep every rider safe and ensure a consistent experience across the Robotaxi network. By booking a ride, you agree to Tesla’s Terms of Service and Rider Rules.

Account & App Requirements #

Using the Robotaxi service requires a valid Tesla Account and the Robotaxi app installed on your mobile device.

You must sign in with a Tesla Account to book any ride.

The ride requester’s phone is required for the Cybercab door to open automatically at pickup. The person who books the ride must be the person boarding.

The Robotaxi app is currently the only way to book, manage, and pay for rides. Booking without a mobile device is not supported at this time.

Rider Rules #

All riders are expected to follow Tesla’s Rider Rules for the duration of every trip.

Minors under 13 are not allowed in Cybercab at this time.

All riders must remain seated with seat belts fastened for the entire trip, from the moment the ride starts until the vehicle comes to a full stop at your destination.

Cybercab may pull over or cancel your ride if improper seat belt usage is detected.

For pets, check the current Rider Rules and Terms of Service in the Robotaxi app for the latest pet policy before bringing an animal.

Releasing your seat belt or standing while the vehicle is in motion is a violation of Rider Rules and may cause Cybercab to pull over or cancel your trip. Keep your seat belt fastened at all times.

Policy Documents #

All official Robotaxi policy documents are available at tesla.com/support/robotaxi. Review each document before your first ride.

The Terms of Service are the binding agreement governing your use of the Robotaxi service.

California Proposition 65 Warnings #

The following warnings are required by California law for vehicles operated or serviced in the State of California.
